Modern Mediterranean elegance is the name of the game with this deck and pool area. Tennessee flagstone that looks like terra cotta marble is combined with touches of Majolica pottery to create a vibrant yet restrained scene—a perfect backdrop for relaxing with the family or enjoying an outdoor celebration with dozens of guests.
Flagstone Deck
The flagstone deck is home to a simple, brick-based outdoor kitchen with a range-top grill and side sink. A brick seating wall surrounds the deck, providing extra space for guests while creating an attractive transition from the deck to the pool area. This transition is accented by colorful vegetation blooming from custom brick planters outside and below the seating wall.
Mediterranean Theme
The Mediterranean theme continues on the 20’ x 40’ pool. It boasts a unique tile frame in a striking blue-and-white Greek key pattern. The flagstone pool decking surrounding the water is styled with black iron lounge chairs whose soft blue cushions pick up the sparkle of the tile. A freestanding brick pediment features a whimsical white lion to watch over swimmers. Two Majolica pots hold small trees on either side of the decorative pediment, across from two similar pots sitting atop brick pedestals on the opposite side of the pool.
Festive Outdoor Space
This festive outdoor space also enjoys a cabana with a full bar complemented by rustic black iron seating around its brick base. Another Majolica pottery piece on the wall extends the Mediterranean theme. Inside, a full bath and washer-and-dryer set await swimmers and guests. A hipped pyramid roof creates visual interest while a central ceiling fan keeps guests cool and comfortable.
