The Center Island
The center island features a soft charcoal granite countertop and large porcelain sink. A white lamp with intricate leaf-and-vine detail shines down on the island’s seating area, which boasts a vertical wide beadboard façade behind the kneespace. Heavily recessed paneling decorates the sides of the island while chairs cushioned in pale sage invite family and guests to sit and stay a while. A crisscross wine rack is built into the island for convenient storage of the homeowner’s fine vintages.
Impressive Appliances and Cabinets
To the left of the island, an outsized professional gas range sits in its own tiled, recessed alcove. Its impressive range hood is built with the same cabinetry and trim as the rest of the kitchen, with crown molding making a shelf on top to display decorative pottery. Glass-front cabinets flank the stove on top, while deep drawers hold gourmet necessities underneath the granite counters. A farm-style, apron-front white porcelain sink sits below a glorious arched, multi-pane, double-casement window, which brings in plenty of sunshine.
Plenty of Counter Space
Ample counter space awaits on either side of the sink, below narrow, glass-front, multi-pane cabinets. Below the counters, additional cabinets and drawers sit to the left and right of the under-sink cabinets, which are bordered on both sides by custom-carved posts. The spacious kitchen’s refrigerator has cabinet-front doors, save for the narrow water and ice dispenser in the middle.
Butler’s Pantry for Ample Storage Space
Fruit-and-floral patterned wallpaper covers this wall above the off-white tile backsplash (which matches the stove alcove). Crown molding tops the refrigerator and all the top-level cupboards, creating a strong visual line around the space. A butler’s pantry is built in at the side of the kitchen, providing ample space for dry goods and kitchen supplies.
